Tuscaloosa County Parks and Recreation Authority ( PARA )
The Tuscaloosa Park and Recreation Authorities operates numerous, well-maintained parks and facilities for public use and rental. From swimming pools and tennis courts, to baseball/softball fields and gymnasiums, availability is the name of our game. Ol Colony golf course has been named one of Alabama’s finest public operated courses.

Jerry Belk Activity Center
Multipurpose gyms, Walking track, Fitness/Aerobic/Dance Room & Meeting areas
The Jerry Belk Activity Center, located in Bowers Park, opened in August 1997and was dedicated October 4, 1997. Features include 2 gyms (one with multipurpose flooring & one with conventional hardwood flooring), a suspended walking track overlooking the gym (1/10 mile), a cardiovascular fitness area, a community room, an aerobics/fitness/dance room, 2 multipurpose rooms, a meeting/conference room, and a catering kitchen. The larger multipurpose room divides into two separate areas.
