Chuck Sittason
President

Chuck has a long and storied career contributing to the well-being of our community. Having worked for Regions Bank for 36 years, Chuck retired in 2005 as Chairman of the Board and CEO for the bank’s Tuscaloosa Region. But that only scratches the surface of Chuck’s efforts to improve the way of life in our region, contributing to the area’s well-being of the area in a host of ways.

CM Newton
Vice President

For fifty years, he’s been a player, coach, and administrator. At the same time, Charles Martin “C.M.” Newton has stood for integrity and remains synonymous with the game of basketball in Alabama. On the court, CM played on the 1951 University of Kentucky squad, winning the NCAA Championship. He coached at Transylvania College, the University of Alabama, and Vanderbilt University. He returned to his alma mater as the new athletics director and credited for hiring the school’s first African-American men’s and women’s basketball coaches. He also served on numerous NCAA Division I basketball committees, and acted as president of USA Basketball, when the U.S. Olympic team transitioned from college to professional players. CM had a major role in selection of the original Olympic Dream Team of 1992.

Don Staley
Executive Director

Former Head Women’s Soccer Coach at The University of Alabama, Don Staley retired at the end of the 2008 season. During his 14-year tenure, Don earned a record of 135-128-12 at the Capstone. In addition, Staley coached 108 Academic All-SEC honorees and 14 All-SEC players.  In 2004, Don became only the fifth coach in NCAA soccer history to reach the 300-win mark. His overall career record of 324-257-38 spans 23 years as a head coach at the collegiate level, including nine years (1985-93) as head coach at Radford University. Don’s experience encompasses far more than just coaching. He served on the 1996 Birmingham Olympic Committee and has a wide range of experience supervising athletics events and championships, including the SEC and the NCAA, acting as overseer of budgets, facilities, and personnel administration.

Justin Williams
Treasurer and Secretary

Practicing in a number of legal specialties, Justin provides us with experience legal issues. Justin serves the Tuscaloosa area in many ways, including the Board of Directors of Theatre Tuscaloosa and member of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama serving on the Public Affairs Council and Environmental Task Force.  Justin is also an active member of the Tuscaloosa Tip-Off Club as one of its board of directors.
